In relation to the current discussion on my dash:
Has anyone ever noticed that the reasons behind “I just don’t find this race very attractive” are usually rooted in stereotypes and harmful misconceptions about that race?
It could be just me, but there’s this whole discussion about racial preferences and all these white people are like “it’s not racist to not find a race attractive, people just have preferences!” yet they don’t seem to realize that things like “their hair is greesy” or “they have fat lips and big noses” or “they’re not smart” are all products of racist ideas that make those physical features “ugly” and the assumption of intelligence the norm unless proven otherwise.
Just sayin’.
Yeah, that’s why although I say “no attraction is inherently bad” to always examine why you’re attracted to certain people and why you’re not attracted to certain people and realize how much society has an affect on those things.
If anyone reading this isn’t attracted to all races, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts?
